Red Ribbon Gala celebrates 20 years
Since 1991, Tulsa CARES has worked to ensure that all people with HIV/AIDS have equal opportunities for healthy living, as well as a compassionate response to the HIV epidemic as HIV infection has evolved from a fatal illness to a chronically managed disease.
For the past 20 years, Tulsa CARES has been able to continue its mission, thanks to the city’s response to its annual fundraiser, the Red Ribbon Gala.
The 20th anniversary Red Ribbon Gala has as its theme “Untied/United,” which stands for “When we become untied from the myths of the past, we become united in our mission of HIV/AIDS education, treatment, and prevention.”
The evening will feature a cocktail hour, a multicourse gourmet dinner, live entertainment, an interactive educational display, and a wealth of luxury items up for auction, ranging from an 11-day trip to India, tickets to the 2017 Tony Awards, an exclusive tour of A Gathering Place for Tulsa led by George Kaiser, and a personally commissioned painting by Patrick Gordon.
