Planners for the Red Ribbon Gala, scheduled for April 28 in the fountain area at One Williams Center, say they are "pulling out all the stops" for this one.
The elegant affair will continue the tradition that Charles Faudree and P.S. (Pat) Gordon began with the Hope Candlelight Tour, which culminated last year with its 10th anniversary celebration.
They are keeping what many people consider as one of the best parts of the fund-raiser -- the great evening of dining and bidding on luxury, you-can't-get- these-anywhere-else items that was such a perk for tour patrons.
Creative consultant Phil Long said the event will be a spectacular theatrical experience. The beauty of the location, some sophisticated table dressing and elegant decor will add to what is sure to become one of Tulsa's favorite ways to spend time.
The original tour benefited people with AIDS and HIV, and Faudree and Gordon remain dedicated to that cause.
Proceeds from the Red Ribbon Gala will benefit Tulsa CARES, the largest nonprofit organization serving people with HIV/AIDS in northeast Oklahoma. Tracy Salisbury and Julie Kruger are patron co-chairwomen. Williams is a major sponsor of the event.
Sponsorships include $10,000 for a table of 12, $5,000 for a table of 10, $2,500 for a table of eight, $1,000 for reservations for four people, and $500 for reservations for two people. Donations are tax deductible.
